Special Services DepartmentIn the Lake Worth Independent School District , we proudly dedicate ourselves to providing students with disabilities the opportunity to participate in an educational program that is designed to meet individual needs. LWISD provides special education for identified students with a variety of disabilities ages 3-21. Each LWISD campus provides special education instructional and related special education services for students in an environment that will contribute to the student's educational success. Our goal is to provide valuable daily educational experiences in the least restrictive environment, which will prepare each student for a lifetime of meaningful and functional living. Services are provided on a continuum of child-centered and supportive services and are combined to meet the needs of eligible students with disabilities. Eligible students are placed according to educational need, rather than disability. The LWISD special education program follows all federal, state and local regulations. |
