Welcome to Fifth Grade at Marine Creek!

     We have three teachers and about seventy-five eager students.  Every day we have one and one-half hours of reading instruction, one and one-half hours of math instruction, and have at least one hour devoted to science instruction.  Then, with the rest of our time, we study our social studies and language instruction.

      As parents, here are some suggestions that we would recommend to help your child be successful in school:

         1. Be sure that homework gets completed and returned to school by the next morning.

         2. Encourage your child to read, read, read at home.  The more they read- the easier

              reading will become for them.  Also, let them have practice reading other material

             than just books.  How about a newspaper, magazine, pamplet, encyclopedia,

             map, etc.
